Occupation: Member of Team X
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 115 lbs

Hair Color: Brown

Mutation: Gail calls her power bioempathy; the ability to control and communicate with plants and insects. She can cll forth swarms of insects and raise the growth level of plants. The insects she calls will do anything she wishes them to. She cannot, however, make them do something they are not deisgned for. Trees and bushes can be used to block someone's way, but not ensnare. Vines can ensnare but cannot do as much damage as they have no bark. Insects of a hive nature are better to use against an enemy as they will work together. Insects that are loner types will try to accomplish the given task alone.

Gail can also use plants or insects as spies of sorts. She can create a bond and sense the area around that plant or insect. This minor psychic ability was actually useful for her to form a psychic bond with Emma Frost, which also allowed her to gain minor telepathic abilities. The only limitation is that anything she wishes to manipulate must be within 100 yard radius, otherwise her powers are useless.

History: Gail learned she was a mutant as a teenager. This was actually no surprise to her, as for a few years she had not been bitten or stung by insects and plants seemed to "move out of her way" if she decided to go exploring in the woods near her home. When her father, a gardener, was in an accident with a riding lawnmower, Gail panicked and it seemed as if the whole world was made of plants and insects as they swarmed and grew in number surrounding her and her father. When all was said and done, the two of them lay in the field and the lawnmower was on its side - a tangle of machinery, weeds, and vines.

Her parents accepted her gifts but told her to keep them a secret. She went onto college where she excelled in biology and majored in both botany and etymology. Though she majored in studies of plant and insect life, she actually took a job in buisness administration and found herself working for Frost Enterprises. Emma Frost took an immediate liking to her, not just because they were both mutants. They eventually became close friends and confidants as well as colleagues. Emma helped to teach Gail how to hone her abilities and harness all she could from them.

As Emma's self-proclaimed competition with Xavier grew, Gail even had some involvement with the Hellions. If the Hellions were alive today, some say it was Gail, not Emma, that convinced them to stay with the Massachusetts Academy. Xavier had even met with Gail on one occasion, to try to convince her to join the X-Men, but she decided that though she wanted to help others in the use of her gifts, she did not wish to be in the fight for mutant rights herself.

With the death of Senator Kelly, Gail has finally decided to seek out the X-Men, more for protection than assistance, but all that could change in the future.
